Join Barry Steele and Friends for a night of timeless classics as this top class production takes you from rockabilly Sun Record years through to the Traveling Wilburys era, and Beyond!
Based firmly in the 80s this West End production of The Roy Orbison Story features many of The Big O’s smash hits, as well as a few surprises!
Barry and his stellar cast of musicians and singers are also celebrating 21 years in the business, so the evening promises to be a very special night.
Not only has Barry Steele performed in The West End he has also toured the globe too, playing to full houses in Holland, Germany, Belgium, New Zealand, Denmark Sweden, Ireland and of course the length and breadth of the UK. He is also due to perform in the USA later this year for a very special performance in Mar-a-Lago.
The show opens in 1988, In the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles, Where the Cult show the black-and-white was recorded. Barry Steele will take you back to that fantastic night where Roy Orbison accompanied by Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jeff Burton, Bonnie Raitt and KD Lang performed in front of Patrick Swayze and Billy Idol amongst many other 80s icons.
Joining Barry in the first half are superb tributes to Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis, Barry then concludes the first half with a sensational section of Philharmonic versions of ‘In Dreams, Running scared, It’s over, Blue Bayou, And of course no Roy Orbison celebration would be complete without the much loved ‘Penny Arcade.’
The upbeat tempo continues into the second show of the evening as Barry Steele and friends commemorates the iconic 80s with the sounds of the collective genius of the original super group “The Traveling Wilburys” ELO, Tom Petty, Del Shannon and of course plenty more Orbison hits.
So, get set for a mind-blowing musical time travel adventure! This show is a jam-packed jukebox of nostalgia that’ll have you, your dad, and even your grandma grooving to the beats of yesteryear. Join Barry Steele at his show for a blast from the past like no other!
